Lucy Walsh, founder of The Brand Ambassadors, has spent the last sixteen years working in the fashion industry. Her roles have included commercial director of Drapers Magazine, the bible for the UK fashion market (www.drapersonline.com)  and commercial director of the UK’s largest womenswear fashion show, Pure London (www.purelondon.com)

Having worked on Drapers Magazine for ten years, Lucy’s connections with both brands and retailers is second to none.  She created the concept and launched the “Drapers Inspiring Indies” event. This event recognised the excellent retailing found in the UK and Ireland’s independent sector, something Lucy is fiercely passionate about.
After a decade working with Drapers, Lucy moved over to Pure London where she continued to use her connections to drive the success of the show. To critical acclaim, Lucy launched the new mid-premium section of Pure called “Agenda” which was home to brands like Humanoid, BZR Bruuns Bazaar, Ready to Fish by Ilje, Eyedoll and Sita Murt to name a few.
Both roles afforded Lucy the opportunity to travel to the best international fashion exhibitions to meet new brands. It was while at these exhibitions that Lucy kept meeting designers who wanted to break into the UK market but were struggling to find an agent.  She realised that, with her connections, experience and desire for a new challenge, she would be the perfect person to launch, develop and grow these brands in a sustainable and long term way.
Launching a brand into the UK market is not an easy task. A strategic, well thought out and delivered plan is essential, as is going door to door and taking the product directly to the retailer. Lucy believes that the most important thing an agent can do is go out on the road and she does so three times a week meeting owners, buyers, retailers and press, presenting the brand to them directly.
With a pop-up showroom during the key selling periods in West London Lucy sells to boutique retailers, independent department stores, major department stores and e-tail businesses, whose target consumer is the thirty plus year old woman.  Now with a full year of trading as a fashion agent Lucy has managed to launch new brands to great success into the UK market.  If you are looking for representation for your brand in the UK and Ireland please contact us.
